Barbara Cohen
District Manager, Chartwells
Barbara has been on the Kids First Board of Director since 2004. She is proud to be involved with Kids First and has a special interest in the Rhode Island Farm to School program. She is an active part of the Farm to School corporate initiative nationally for Chartwells.

Brooke Havens
Program Manager, Community Relations & CSR
Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island
Brooke has over 15 years of experience working in non-profit organizations in a variety of roles and agencies including both small community organizations and large national non-profits. She is currently the Program Manager in the Community Relations & CSR Department at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) overseeing BCBSRI's corporate philanthropy (including competitive health grants) and award-winning employee volunteer programs. Brooke joined the Kids First Board of Directors in 2009 and is happy to help support the important work Kids First does in Rhode Island.

Tom Hoagland
General Manager, ARAMARK K-12 Rhode Island
Tom joined the Kids First Board in 2010 and is a 20 year veteran in school food service with ARAMARK. Since moving to Rhode Island, Tom's special interest at ARAMARK has centered on implementing RINR standards, advancing the RI Farm to School programs and increasing the amounts of scratch-cooking in RI school cafeterias. He feels that the current partnership between Kids First, school districts and food service management companies in RI is unique and innovative and will serve as a model for other cities and states in the country.

Mark Jeffrey

Mark has been on the Kids First Board of Directors since 2002. Mark has over 25 years experience in food and beverage industry and oversees the food service operations in Providence, RI's largest school population district.

Marjorie has served on the Kids First Board since 2001. She believes strongly in the Kids First mission and what the organization is trying to accomplish through education.

Joanne Valk
Principal, Daniel D. Waterman Elementary School
Cranston, RI
Joanne has served on the Kids First Board since 2003. As a lifelong teacher and administrator, she believes in educating the whole child - physically, mentally, socially and academically. She supports the work of Kids First in order to help promote the overall health and wellness of all children in Rhode Island. |
